S&B welcomes new colleagues selected through the YOU@S&B program

S&B welcomes 25 new employees

On Monday, September 2, 2013, S&B welcomed 25 new employees, recruited through YOU@S&B, a program designed to offer work experience to unemployed youth in Greece.

CEO Kriton Anavlavis and South Europe General Manager Thanasis Kefalas welcomed the 25 young people at S&B’s headquarters, wishing them all the best.

The new colleagues had the opportunity to meet with Ulysses Kyriacopoulos, Chairman of S&B, who congratulated them on their success and highlighted, once again, the program’s goal to provide professional knowledge, skills and experience that will improve their employment prospects. He went on to remark: “I invite you all, as young colleagues, to contribute to this program’s success. The positions we have created will provide professional challenges commensurate with your qualifications aiming to support your development. Do not cease asking questions and being curious. I am confident that we will all derive value and benefits from our common course over the next nine months.”

25 young people are welcomed, following the YOU@S&B program’s demanding recruitment and selection process. The new recruits range from high-school to higher education graduates, who will gain work experience from 9 months paid employment at S&B. The program is S&B’s contribution in tackling youth unemployment in Greece.

During the first week of the program, the young colleagues are attending an intensive 5-days training course in Business Administration developed in cooperation with ALBA Business School. Distinguished ALBA professors, as well as S&B executives aim to provide them with the fundamentals of business operation and to familiarize them with S&B’s business environment.

As of Monday, September 9, 2013, the young colleagues will assume their responsibilities at S&B’s operations in Athens, Milos, and Fokis in the following fields: Research & Development, Environmental Management, Machinery & Electric Equipment Maintenance, Sales, Communication, Finance, Accounting, Information Technology, Human Resources, Legal Services, Internal Audit and Secretarial Support.
